Our workshops and courses take place in a relaxed and therapeutic environment and at your own pace. They do not require any prior knowledge or eduction.
Our 1 or 2 day 'Introduction to Stress Reduction' workshops offer an ideal opportunity to discover how you become stressed and to learn simple yet powerful techniques to overcome stress and anxiety. The workshops include teaching, discussion, a chance to share experiences and relaxation practice. Literature and refreshments are provided.
Our 10 week Stress Reduction Courses consist of 10 weekly two-hour sessions, one full day, a CD for home practice and course materials. Each weekly session will enable you to learn and cultivate skills to reduce stress and bring about deep and lasting change through awareness, relaxation and cognitive techniques, in a supportive and motivational group environment. Topics such as healthy breathing, meditation and awareness will be covered on the course, and handouts will be provided on each topic. Each weekly session will vary, but will build upon the previous week and will include informative talks, discussion, a chance to share experiences, various exercises and relaxation practice. The idea behind the full day session is to allow more time and space for exercises, meditation practice and for participants to share and perhaps to participate in some more therapeutic group or one-to-one work.
Who are the workshops and courses for?
Our workshops and courses are for you if you would like to learn simple cognitive and meditative techniques to help you overcome stress and anxiety, and benefit from being in a supportive group of people with similar experiences. The only requirement with the 10-week course, and one that will ensure getting the most from the course, is that you practice the relaxation techniques at home at least 6 days per week.
